For those who were lucky enough to grow or have had the pleasure to purchase farmers market heirloom tomatoes. This was a great year for my tomatoes. I started them last February form seeds I got over the Internet. M little greenhouse in the laundry room really turned out some great plants. My little garden was so tall and the tomatoes were so good.

I had Dark tomatoes, Green Zebra tomatoes, Mortgage Lifters, I even had the tomatoes that are yellow, streaks of red and green shoulders that were to die for. When you can mix these with fresh Mozzarella Globe Basil , the best extra virgin olive oil along with some 25 year old balsamic you really have one of the best dishes you can imagine. Pair a good bottle of wine and some crusty french bread with this salad. Invite some good friends and you have a great start to a wonderful evening.

The most difficult thing was keeping them long enough to make either salads with them or really good burschetta. My little 6 year old daughter would raid the garden and just pig out on the cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes. For those chefs and cooks who know what tomato concusses is, try making it with heirloom tomatoes. Man does it really punch up a pasta dish or work on vegetables like beans. I even used them in ratatouille, the concusses add a truly fresh full flavor finish to a wonderful dish.
